CAST IRON FIREPLACE – KLING-STRIP & SOLVISTRIP
This cast iron bedroom fireplace was covered in multiple layers of paint. It initially looked like layers of gloss and oil paint so Kling Strip was applied to a test area. However, having left it overnight before removing, it was clear there was a layer of emulsion paint between layers of oil-paint.
An application of Solvistrip was therefore required which dissolved that layer before a second application of Kling Strip that took it back to its original state with ease. The beauty of Kling Strip is that due to it’s thick paste texture it can get into fine detail and remove the build up of paint in one application.
